Welcome! Shall We Begin?

Though I have blogged anonymously for others, this is the first time that I have “exposed” myself. I figured that this would be a good way to get some things out of my head.

Getting Out of my Comfort Zone

My life was small, and I was comfortable. It was far easier to make excuses than to make a change. I knew my purpose, I had no less than a dozen black-and-white, marbled journals full of great ideas, and I even had a vision board! I knew what I was supposed to do, but doing it was quite another story. Change is scary! This blog is all about getting out of my comfort zone; a process that is decidedly UN-comfortable. There have been many starts and stops, many missteps along the way, and many wrong turns, but I have discovered it’s all about the journey.

So, What Can You Expect?

• Inspiration: I am an encourager by nature, so I will be sharing some things that will inspire, encourage, and uplift.
• Exploration: As I mentioned before, my world was small. So, I will share my experiences as I explore new places and try new things.
• Situations: Finally, I will share with you a sneak peek into my life so you can see how I got here. Disclaimer: I am still becoming, so the “here” is subject to change.

For Those of You Who Are New to Me

I am originally from Columbus, Mississippi. I landed in Memphis, Tennessee, where I currently reside, after brief stints in Itta Bena, Mississippi and Fort Worth, Texas. I am a mom, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a cousin, and a bestie. I am also an educator, an author, and now, a blogger! You have a front-row seat to watch as I expand my ever-growing lists of “I AMs.” Welcome to The Journey!
