Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Fear can be debilitating and even paralyzing. No two people have exactly the same fears for the same reasons. Whether it’s the fear of public speaking , the fear of traveling alone, or even the fear going back to school, usually the thing that causes us the most trepidation is the thing that we are called to do. God encourages us and admonishes us to be strong, courageous, and even fearless, not in our own power, but in the power of His might. Remember, God has your back wherever you go, so you never have cause to be discouraged or afraid.
Affirm It!
- I Am Strong!
- I Am Courageous!
- I Am Fearless!
- I Am Courageous!

The ripples in the wake of a passing ship are forceful, resilient, and reactive! They roll, they crash, they break, and they dash, all in response to being disturbed from their normal, placid state. They’ll push back, but eventually, they will back down until they, too, disappear out of sight.
My life was small, and I was comfortable with that. It was far easier to make excuses than to make changes. I knew my purpose, and I had no less than a dozen black-and-white, marbled journals full of great ideas. Shoot, I even had a vision board! (You’ll learn more about that in The Journey). So what was the problem? I knew what I was supposed to do, but I just couldn’t seem to do it. The answer dawned on my while I was listening to a Jazmine Sullivan song, which was appropriately entitled ‘Fear’. Apparently Jazmine and I have a lot in common. Anyway, change is scary, but it is necessary! This blog is all about changing and getting out of my comfort zone; a process that is decidedly UN-comfortable by the way. I don’t have it all together yet, but it’s way past time to launch out and try something new!
